Sunni Bahishti Zewar CHAPTER OF TAHAARAT Tahaarat (cleanliness) is of pivotal importance to namaaz to' such an extent that Salaah is not done without it, and so essential is tahaarat that the Ulema have ruled kufr if someone intentionally performs namaaz without it. The Holy Prophet � has stated, "The key to Jannah is namaaz and the key ofnamaaz is tahaarat. " (ImaamAhmed) Once, while the Holy Prophet i\ was reciting Surah Room in Fajr salaah, his qiraat was disturbed by a confusion. After the salaah, he said, "What is the condition of those who perform salaah with us but do not make tahaarat properly? It is due to them that the imaam becomes confused in qiraat." (Nasaai ShareeJ) When this is the harm caused by reading namaaz with improper tahaarat then what can be said regarding the detriment of performing it without cleanliness completely? Indeed, performing Salaah without tahaarat is disrespect to ibaadat and the result of showing d !'egard towards it is known well indeed. MayAllah�, through the sadqa ofHis Beloved�, grant us all Muslims death on imaan, Ameen ! Tahaarat is oftwo kinds, 1. Tahaarat-e-Sughra - which is Wudhu. 2. Tahaarat-e-Kubra - meaning Ghusal. Hadathe-Asgar are those factors that make only wudhu necessary while the factors that make ghusal obligatory are called Hadathe-Akbar. (Basic books ofFiqh)
