The parts of the body wherein care needs to be given in wudhu also apply in ghusal. Besides these there are other parts that should be kept in mind, 1 . If the hair is not in a bun then to flow water over every strand ofhair from its root till tip is necessary. However, i f it is in a bun then it is compulsory on the woman to wet only its root and to open the bun is not necessary. If the bun is so tight, though, that water cannot reach the roots then to op e n it is compulsory. 2 . The law regarding the holes of ear-rings is the same as nose rings discussed in the discussion ofwudhu. Refer to it there. 3 . The entire ear, its lobes, front as well as the back, should be washed. Hair behind the ear should be moved so that the back can be cleaned easily. 4 . One should put one's chin up to wash properly the area beneath it and the neck. 5. Withoutputting the arms up one cannot wash the armpits entirely. 6. Every area ofthe shoulder and back should be washed completely. 7. Washing the creases of the stomach and the navel by putting one's finger in it. 8. Thejoints ofthe thighs, feet, and ankles. 9. The area where the two buttocks meet. 1 0. The inner portion ofthe ankles and the surface ofthe thighs. 1 1 . Abreast that has gone in should be l i fted andwashed. 1 2. Thej oint where the breast and stomachmeet. 1 3 . Every part ofthe private part from the bottom until the top should be washed carefully. Yes, to put one 's finger in the private part to wash it is ' noooecessary but mustahab for more thorough c leaning. Similarly, it is not necessary but mustahab for a woman who comes out of nifaas or haiz to use an old cloth to clean the effect ofblood inside the private part. \ 1 9
