METHOD OF TAYAMMUM There are three faraaidh i n tayammum, 1. Niyyat- Ifone hits the earth with his palms and passes them over his hand and face without making niyat then tayammum will not be done. 2. Passing the hand over the entire face- A minute area should not be left out and if an area equal to a strand of hair is left out then tayammum will not be completed. 3. Making masah of both the hands including the elbows- Care should be taken in making masah over every part of the hand. Otherwise, tayyamum will not be made. (GeneralBooks) MASNOON PROCEDURE After reading Bismillah, both hands should be hit on the earth, sand or anything that has dust or sand settled on it with the fingers kept opened. The hands should then be hit together at the initial j oint of the thumbs. They should not be hit together at the palms and no clapping noise should be made. The hands should now be passed over the entire face. This procedure of striking the earth should be done again. Then the masah of the right hand with the left needs to be completed with the other part being passed over by the fingers besides the thumb until the elbows and the inner by the left hand's palm while returning to the wrist.
