and namaaz should be commenced. She should not wait for the days of her habit. 1 2 . If blood flowed for more than the habitual days then, in the case of haiz and nifaas, 10 and 40 days should be waited for respectively. If, within this period, blood stops then she must bath and make namaaz. When blood flows more than this period, though, then bath and after the habitual days make qadha ofboth namaaz and fasting 1 3 . Ifhaiz or nifaas stopped before the completion of the habitual days then after waiting until the last mustahab time, one should bath and make namaaz. There is no need to wait once the habitual days are over. (Alamghiri, Raddul-Muhtaar) 1 4. If haiz or nifaas was completed exactly i n 1 0 days or 40 days respectively and there was just enough time after it was completed to say "Allahu-Akbar" for the Salaah, then that time's namaaz becomes fardh on her. After bathing, qadha namaaz for it must be read. If, after it stopped, there was enough time for ghusal, changing ones clothes and saying "Allahu-Akbar" once, then it is fardh to do so. If there is no time then it is not necessary upon her. (Raddul-Muhtaar) 1 5 . Ifhaiz is completed in ten days exactly and there is not enough time left over at night to say "AllahuAkbar" once then the Rauza of that day becomes waaj ib. When it is completed in less time then that and there is sufficient time to both, change and say "Allahu-Akbar" before Subah­ sadiq then rauza becomes fardh. It is best ifone baths but if it is not done then niyyat should be made and one should bath at morning. If there is not enough time for this, even then the rauza ofthat day does not become fardh. 1 6. If while fasting, haiz or nifaas begins then that fast is broken. Its qadha should be kept. Keeping qadha ofa fardh fast is fardh and to keep qadhaa of a nafl fast i s waajib. (Durre-Mukhtaar, Raddul-Muhtaar, Alamghiri etc) 1 7. A woman with haiz or nifaas is given the choice of either visibly or 39
