neccessary to be adopted, e.g. ifby standing to make salaah, blood flows but it does notwhen sitting, then to sit is fardh. (Alamghiri) 1 1 . If a ma'zoor has an uzr that causes her clothes to become naj i s more than one dirham and she knows that there is enough time for her to wash it andmake namaaz with p,aak c lothes then towash it andperform salaah is fardh. However, it is not neccessary to wash the clothes if it is known that, while reading namaaz, that area will become naj i s again, Salaah can be made with it. When the naj is space is equal to a dirham and there is time to wash it then to do so i s waaj ib. In the case when it is less then a dirham then to wash it is sunnat, but if it is known that it will again become naj i s then there is no harm in notwashing it. (Alamghiri) 1 2. When there is moisture coming out from a wound but it does not flow then neither does wudhu break nor does one become a mazoor because of this. The moisture is also not naa-paak (impure). (General Books) DISCUSSION AND RULES CONCERNING NAJAASAT There are two kinds ofnaj aasat - galeeza (major) and khafeefa (minor). (GeneralBooks) Both these Najaasats have certainAhkaam. 1 . The order concerning najaasat-e-galeeza is that if it is on the body or clothes more than one dirham then to make it paak is fardh. Salaah is not done if it is made without cleaning it and if one intentionally does not clean it and performs salaah then sin has also been incurred. When naj aasat-e-galeeza is equal to a dirham then to clean it is waaj ib and if namaaz is made without cleaning it then to repeat the namaaz is also waaj ib. Sin has also been committed if one knowingly makes namaaz without making it paak. When it is less than a dirham then to make it Paak is Sunnat. If Namaaz is read without cleaning it then although it will be done but to repeat it is better as an action against the Sunnat has been perpetrated. (Durre-Mukhtaaretc) 44
