It is for this reason the' Ulema state that the woman who does not make namaaz should be given talaaq. AHadeeth states, "When a child reaches the age of7 he or she should be taught the procedures ofperforming Namaaz and, when the age of 1 0 is reached, force should be used to make sure that namaaz i s made." (Abu Dawood, Tirmizi) Nevertherless there are five salaah fardh on every aaqil, baaligh Muslim - Fajr, Zohar, Asar, Magrib and Esha. Fajr - Begins from Subah-saadiq (dawn ofthe day) untilthe rays ofthe sun shine. Zohar - From the declining of the sun until the shadows of objects are doubled excepting their original one. Asar - From the end ofthe time ofZohar until the setting ofthe sun. Maghrih - Begins from when the face of the sun sets and remains until the shafaq sets. Shafaq i s that whiteness that remains on the sky (like that at the time ofSubah-saadiq). Esha - From the end ofMaghrib (meaning as soon as the shafaq sets) until the coming of Subah-saadiq. (GeneralBooks, Fataawa Razvia) MISCELLANEOUS MASAAIL 1 . Fajr namaaz is mustahab for women at its initial time and it is best for them to wait for the j amaat of men for the other salaah. (Durre Mukhtaar) 2. Asar namaaz shoul d not be delayed to ' the extent that a yellowish colour begins to foml on the face of the sun. It is with experience that this occurs when there are 20 minutes left for the sun to set. Hence, this amount of time is disliked for Asar to be performed within. (Durre Mukhtaar, Fataawa Razvia) 52
