1 . Takbeer-e-Tahrima Actually, Takbeer-e-Tahrima is from the conditions of Salaah. However, due to it being absolutely joined to Namaaz, it is counted amongst the Faraaidh of namaaz. This can be understood easily by knowing that all the other conditions ofnamaaz are all conditions for Takbeer-c-Tahrima and it is a condition for namaaz (meaning, before the end ofTakbeer, these conditions are necessary to be found). IfAllahu Akbar is said and any of these conditions is not found then namaaz has not even commenced. (Durre-Mukhtaar, Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- If the word Allah or Akbar i s distorted, e.g. Aaalah, Aakbaar, then namaazwill not have commenced. (Durre-Mukhtaar) 2. Qiyaam Standing up straight. The most reduced limit is ifone spreads the hands then they will not reach the knees. (Durre-Mukhtaw; Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- Qiyaam is Fardh in Fardh and witr Salaahs as well as in the sunnat ofFajr. If these Salaahs are read s itting without a valid reason then they will not be done. (Durre-Mukhtaar, Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- It is allowed to sit and make Nafil Salaah, even if one is able to stand and make it, but to stand and perfonn it is better. The Hadeeth states, "The namaaz of one who sits is half of the one who stands", meaning half the Thawaab is attained. (Bahare-Shariat, Raddul Muhtaar) However, Qiyaam will not remain Fardh i f a person cannot stand or make sajda, the person can stand but standing i ncreases s ickness or delays recovery, pain which is unbearable is experienced, a person i s aboard a ship o r plane and, i f he or she stands while i t is moving, it is sincerely feared that giddiness wi l l occur, in all these situations it is ruled that namaaz should be perfonned sitting.
