Rule- If Faj r became Qadhaa then its sunnat must also be read with its Fardh's Qadhaa if perfonned before Zawaal. If it is read after Zawaal then the Sunnat should not be read. Besides Fajr, if other namaaz's Sunnats aremissed then there is no Qadhaa for them. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- Only At-Tahiyat must be read in the Qaaida-e-Oola ofa 4 Rakaat Sunnate Muakada namaaz and if Durood Shareef is also read mistakenly then Sajda-e-Sahw must be made. When standing in the 3rd rakaat of a 4 rakaat Sunnat-e-Muakada namaaz then Thanaa and Ta'awuz must not be said. However, when standing in a 4 rakaat Sunnat-e-Ghair Muakada or Nafl Namaaz then for Durood to be recited in its Qaaida-e-Oola and Thana and Ta' awuz in its third and fourth Rakaat is Mustahab. (Durre-Mukhtaar) Rule- When performing nafl salaah sitting, one should sit in the manner ofTashahud and place the hands on the chest in Qiraat just as how they are placed on it during Qiyaam. However, to stand and perfom1 nafl salaah is more better, as the hadeeth states "The namaaz ofone who sits is half of one who stands". The two rakaats of nafl after the witr falls under this rule as well. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- Taraweeh is, according to Ijmaa, (Consensus) Sunnat-e-Muakada and to abandon it is not permissible. The 20 Rakaats ofTaraweeh must be read with 1 0 Salaam, meaning after every 2 Rakaats salaam must b� made. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- Taraweeh perfonned sitting without a valid excuse is Makrooh and doing so, according to some, causes Tareweeh to not be done. (Dllrre-MukhtaQl) Rule- Women should recite Taraweeh salaah with surahs. The method of doing this is to begin recitation from Surah Alam Tara kayfa until Surah Ikhlaas twice, effectively causing 20 Rakaats ofTaraweeh to be done. In this manner there is no need to keep a count ofRakaats even. It is permisible to recite Surah Ikhlaas after Surah Fatiha in every rakaat also. (Raddul-Muhtaar) 75
