QADHAA NAMAAZ Rule- Making the Qadhaa of a namaaz that was missed through forgetfulness or sleeping is Fardh. Upon remerhbering it or waking up it must be read as soon as possible provided that the time is not Makrooh. Todelay it is Makrooh and leads to sin. When it is feared that Fajr Salaah will be missed then to stay awake late in the night without a valid Sharee excuse is prohibited. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- It is waj ib on a person awake to wake up someone who is sleeping to perform namaaz. Similarly, it is also wajib on a personwho knows for sure that another individual forgot to perform a salaah, to remind the latter ofthe namaaz. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- The Qadhaa of a namaaz missed must be performed exactly according to the state in which it became Qadhaa eg: ifa 4 Rakaat Fardh namaaz became Qadhaa whislt in a Safar Oourney) then it must be read according to how it would have been read in a journey even if the Qadhaa is perforn1ed in the state of Iqaamat (residence). S imilarly if a namaaz became Qadhaa in Iqaamat then it must be read acording to how it would have been read in residence even ifthe Qadhaa is performed on ajourney. (Alamghiri) Rule- Sequence between the five Fardh and Witr Salaah is necessary meaning the sequence ofFajr, Zohar, Asr, Maghirib, Esha and thereafter Witr must be maintained. Therefore if Zohar and Asr became Qadhaa then only after making Zohars Qadhaa can Asr be performed. It is impermissible to knowingly performAsr first. (Alamghiri) Rule- The above rule is related to when Qadhaa is of five Salaah but when Qadhaa Salaah exceeds five Fardh Salaah then maintaining a sequence between them is not necessary. The individual has the choice ofperforming whichever salaah he or she wishes first or last. There is no sequence to maintain between Qadhaa andWaqti (appointed) salaah as well. The individual also has the choice ofperformingwhich ever salaah he or she wishes first or last. (Raddul-Muhtaar) 76
