Heavenly Jewels
Rule- In the case of lying down and reading namaaz the sick person has the choice ofbeing on her left or right side facing Qibla or lying on the back pointing the feet towards the Qibla. However in this condition the fcet should not be spread as spreading the legs in the direction of the Qibla is Mr.krooh and disallowed. Rather the knees should be kept up with a pillow being kept under the head so that it can be raised and face Qibla. This is the more better practice in this condition. (Durre Mukhtaar) Rule- In the case ofgesturing, it is necessary that the gesture for Sajda be more lower than that for Ruku. However it is not necessary that the head be brought absolutely close to the ground. It is a sin and Makrooh e-Tahrimi to rest the forehead on a p illow etc or :mythingbrought near to it in making Saj da even if it was lifted by another person. (Durre Mukhtaar) RlIle- Ifthere is a sick person who can straighten her back and also make Sajda on a hard-surface placed on the ground then it is Fardh on her to make Saj da and Ruku in this manner, on condition that the hard obj ect placed on the ground is not more higher then 1 2 fingers breadth. (Raddul-Muhtaar) RlIle- Sajda should be made on the nose ifthe forehead cannot touch the ground due to a wound on it. If this is not done and a gesture is used then namaaz will not be done. (Alamghiri) Rule- If sickness is so severe that gesturing with the head can not also be done then namaaz of that time is forgiven. Thereafter if this condition remains for 6 continuing times of Salaah then there is no Qadhaa as well as no need for Fi dya. If this is not the case then the Qadhaa of these namaaz i s necessary in whatever manner they can be made even if there is only enough health to gesture by the head and make them. (Durre-Mukhtaar) Rule- Due to sickness if a sick person cannot remember the amounts of Ruku and Sujood then to complete them at that time is not necessary. (Durre-Mukhtaar) 1 05
