Wudhu of a Mayyit there is no washing the hands til l the wrists, Kuli or putting water in the nose. The teeth, gums , lips and nostril s are to be passed over with a wet piece of cloth or cotton. Then the head should be washed with a Paak soap but if not found then plain water is sufficient too . The Mayyit 4- should then be made to lie on the right side and water made hot with plum-leaves or if not found then plain lukewarm water poured from head to toe until it reaches the counter also. This should be done with the left side as well. Then the Mayyit should be made to sit up with a support and the bottom area of the stomach pressed gently. If anyth ing comes out wash it and there is no neeed to give Wudhu or Ghusal again. Lastly water with camphor should be flowed over the body from head till toe. The body then wiped gently with a paak towel or cloth. (General Books) Rllle- To make water flow over the entire body once is Fardh and three times is Sunnat. It is Mustahab for the area where Ghusal wi II be given to be blocked by a Purdah so that none besides the man to give ghusal and '*r helpers can sec anything. At the time ofwashing the body it can + be placed like how a Mayyit is placed in the Qabr (on the right side facing Qibla) or ifnot then the feet facing Qibla or in any position that is easy. (Alamghiri) Rllle- The women to give Ghusal should be with Taharaat. It is disliked for a Junub or a woman with Haiz to give Ghusal but if they do, it will be done. There is absolutely no Karaahat ifa woman without Wudhu gives Ghusal. The woman to give Ghusal should be one who can complete the entire Ghusal. If she sees anything good, e.g. the face became bright, a fragrance emanated from the body then she should relate it to other women but ifshe sees anything bad she should not narrate it to anybody. (Alamghin) Rule- The husband of a woman deceased cannot bath or touch her but to see her is not disal lowed. (Durre-Mukhtaar) 1 2 1
