Heavenly Jewels
That which is famous amongst the masses i.e. the husband cannot carry, see or place the Janaaza in the Qabr is absolutely incorrect. Only bathing and touching the body by hand is not permitted. The Janaaza is touched by the hands of strangers, carried on their shoulders and taken till the Qabr by them so what to say ofthe husband. (Fataawa Razvia) Rule- One Ghusal is sufficient for a j unub or a woman with Haiz or Nifaas that has died. No matter how many factors make ghusal Waajib they will all be completed by one Ghusal . (Durre-Mukhtaar) Rule- The body ofa Mayyit has become so decomposed that if touched its skin falls then it should not be touched by hand. Only water should be poured over it. (Alamghiri) Rule- There is no harm if cotton is p laced in the ears, nose, mouth or other open areas after bathing but it i s better if it is not placed. It is impennissible, Makrooh-e-Tahrimi and a sin to comb the hair of the Mayyit, cut _ nails or to extract, cut or shave hair from anywhere. The Hukm is that the Mayyit be buried in whatever condition sae dies. However ifthe hair or nails are cut then they should be kept in the Kafn. (Alamghiri, Durre-Mukhtaar) Rule- Both hands of the Mayyit should be placed at the sides and not :I kept on the chest as this is the way ofthe Kuffar. In some areas the hands are placed below the navel just as in namaaz. This too should not be done. Rule- There is no need of special vessels to pour water when giving Ghusal to the Mayyit. Even jugs Llsed for domestic purposes suffice. Some people break the jugs used after the Ghusal thinkin g them to be Naj is. This is Haraam because one is destroying property. If the vessels do become Najis then by washing them they become Paak. (Bahare Shariat) Rule- It is Fardh-e-Kifaaya to cover the Mayyit with kafan. (General B,0oks) 1 22
