(Fataawa Razvia) FACTORS THAT DO NOT BREAK RAUZA Rule- Rauza is not broken if, 1 . Spit that comes out on to the lips while talking is l icked and swallowed. 2. Drool that comes out of the mouth is raised and licked provided its progression is not broken. 3. Phlegm comes to the mouth and is imbibed regardless ofthe amount. 4. Snot that comes out of the nostril but has not become separate from the nose is rai sed and snorted down. However all these actions are looked down upon and people become d isgusted with it. Therefore they should be abstained from. If the food was swallowed in both cases then the fast wi l l be broken. (A lamghiri) Kafaraah will then become waaj ib in both situ a tions. RlIle- Ifa fly goes down the throat then the fast will not be broken but if it is intentionally swallowed then the Rauza is lost. (Alamglziri) . Rllle- If a sesame seed or something equal to i t in size was chewed and went down the throat with the saliva then the fast is not broken. However if its taste is fel t in the throat then Rauza breaks. (Fathul Qadeel) 1 54
