Nazar to the Auliya. The Shariah approved method of fasting should be completed and all other ways and traditions against the Shariah should not be done. Rule- To keep fast on Eid-ul-Fitr, Eidul-Adhaa and Ayaam-e-Tashreeq (1 J th, J 2th, J 3th, oJZul-Hajjah) is a sin and Haraam. Hence if a person made a Manat to keep fast of the month in which these days of prohibition fall then Rauza should not be kept on these days but later on in exchange for them. IfManat was made of a specific month, e.g. Rajab or Shabaan then it is necessary that Rauza be kept the entire month, wether it is amonth of29 or 30 days with no break in the continuation. If aRauzawas missed then it should be kept later on and there is no need to return the entire month. (Durre-Mukhtaar) Rllle- IfManat for Rauza was mcde for one day then the person has the choice ofkeeping it on whichever day wished except for the prohibited days. This rule applies to a Manat of two or three days also. However if intention was made for continuity in them then it is waaj i b that they be continuously kept but if no such Niyyat was made then there is the choice of continuance or a break in it. Keeping them continuously, even though intention of discontinuity was made, is also allowed. (Alamghiri} Rule- The Manat made to keep fast for half a day is not a valid vow. (Alamghiri) DISCUSSION ON HAJJ Hajj (Pilgrimage) is the fifth pillar of Islam and the fourth Islamic Ibaadat after Namaaz, Zakaat and Saum. It is Fardh on the entire Ummah of Rassoollalah in whichever area they are, j ust once in a lifetime and on those who have the means to go to Makka to complete it. In the year 9 A.H. Hajj was made Fardh and its compulsion is Qatee (Proven explicitly by the Quraan). The person who rejects it beingFardh is a Kaafir. 1 68
