HAJJ-E-BADAL Rule- Hajj is a collection of both physical and material Ibaadat. The person on whom Hajj was Fardh but (Ma 'azallah) died without fulfilling it, then it is apparent that from the physical point ofview she is helpless to make it. It is the mercy ofAllah� that He accepts Hajj Badal on behalfofthis person from her financial side, when wasiyat for it to be done was made by her. However it is mercy upon mercy that He also accepts the Hajj the inheritors institute even ifshe did nOt makeWasiyat for it to be done. (Fataawa Razvia) Rule- A person implaces Hajj-e-Badal in her lifetime due to a helplessness or problem then it is a condition for the validity ofthe Hajj that the problem remains until the end ofher life . After the Hajj -e-Badal, if the . helplessness becomes extinct and she gains enough strength to make Hajj by herselfthen the Hajj-e-Badal she had instituted for herself before this is reduced to therewardofNafl Hajj . 1t becomes Fardh on her to nowmake Hajj herself. Ifshe was negligent and with time passing on the problem pitched up again then to make someone go for Hajj all over agam IS necessary. Yes if the problem is such that if it is not naturally removed, e.g. blindness etc but after some time though, due to Allah ' s mercy or a Wal i 's karaamat (miracle), eye sight was restored and Hajj-e- Badal was made before this then it does not fall away but is sufficient for the Fardh to have been completed. If she makes Hajj hersel f then it is honorable otherwise the Fardh has already been fulfilled. (Fataawa Razvia) Rule- It is best that the person sent for Hajj-e-Badal is one who has already performed the pilgrimage and knows it's procedure and actions. Sending a person who has not already been for Hajj will sti l l be sufficient to complete Hajj-e-Badal. It is Makrooh-e-Tahrimi to send a person on whom Hajj is Fardh but has not made it yet. If a child near Buloogh is sent for Hajj-e-Badal then it will be done as well. (Durre Mukhtar, Alamghiri) 1 7 1
