(Tibram) The advice of this Hadeeth is that women should not be given in man:iage to men who make Nikah solely based on their selfish reasons of acquiring a beautiful, rich or well connected wife. The most important factor in giving away a daughter in Nikah is good mannerism and obeying thecommands ofAllah � and His Rasool �. Through this, will the domestic life always be fruitful and love will remain between the husbandandwife . MUHARRAMAAT There are certain people with whom Nikah can be made and there are some with whom it cannot occur. Muharramaat are those women with whomNikah is Haraam and impermissible. According to this, there are two types ofwomen , 1 . Those with whom Nikah i s Haraam forever. 2. Because ofa certain situation or stipulated time, N ikah is prohibited. There are a few reasons which causes Hurmat (prohibition), 1. Nasab (Blood Ties) There are seven women that fall under this with whom N ikah is absolutely Haraam. 1 . Mothers and by mother is meant those women whose children the man is from either directly or indirectly. Therefore the maternal, paternal grandmother both, th e great grandmother no matter how far on all fall under the category ofmother and are Haraam. A step mother IS also absolutely Haraam like a b i rth mother. 2. Daughters and by daughter is meant those women \vho are his children' either directly or indirectly. Hence the paternal and maternal grand daughter, greatgrand daughter, all areHaraam. 3. Sisters wether she is a blood sister meaning from one set ofparents or 1 83
