Rule- Ifthis dua is not read but Aqeeqa is intended at heart, still too will the child' s Aqceqa be done. Rule- It is unfounded and baseless to think that the person whose Aqeeqahas not taken place cannot makeQurbaani. Rules- Manats (vows) taken for the child should be in accordance with the Shariah. A Sunn i Aalim should be consulted to know if the Manat is valid according to the Sh\:lriah but beware do not ask aWaahabi, Shia etc Moulvi as they habitually classify permissible acts as invalid and vice versa. (Bahare-Shariat) Rule- To make Khatnaa (circumcision) is sunnat ar.d an Islamic custom that differentiates a Muslim from a K aafir. That is why, it is also known as "Musalmaani". The period for Khatnaa is from 7 to 1 2 years old. Some Ulema have stated that circumcision is allowed from the seventh day after birth. (Alamghiri) Generally this is also the practice of Muslims. If the child is born without the skin that is cut in Khatnaa (theforeskin), there is no need for him to undergo it. (Alamghin) Rule- Gifts that are sent by relatives and friends on the birth or circumcision of the child are for the parents except for those gifts which are exclusively known to be for the chi ld, e.g. chi ldren '-. clothing. (Dun-e-Mukhtaar) However ifthe gifts are marked by the senders for those who they wish to give then only the people marked can take their respective gifts, not others, e.g. if it is marked for the grandparents, then only they should take it. ZEENAT (EMBELLISHMENT) Rule- There is nothing wrong with piercing the ears and nose ofgirls as this was practiced in the time ofthe Holy Prophet � as well and was not prohibited. (Alamghiri) 223
