Rule- Ifthis dua is not read but Aqeeqa is intended at heart, still too will the child' s Aqceqa be done. The period for Khatnaa is from 7 to 1 2 years old. Some Ulema have stated that circumcision is allowed from the seventh day after birth. (Alamghiri) Generally this is also the practice of Muslims. If the child is born without the skin that is cut in Khatnaa (theforeskin), there is no need for him to undergo it. (Alamghin) Rule- Gifts that are sent by relatives and friends on the birth or circumcision of the child are for the parents except for those gifts which are exclusively known to be for the chi ld, e.g. chi ldren '-. clothing. (Dun-e-Mukhtaar) However ifthe gifts are marked by the senders for those who they wish to give then only the people marked can take their respective gifts, not others, e.g. if it is marked for the grandparents, then only they should take it.
