Rule- The hair that falls from combing or washing the head and cut fingernails should be buried, placed or hidden in a p lace whereAjnabee men cannot see. (DurreMukhtaar) Rule- To remove the pubic hair below the navel is sunnat and it is best removed on Juma, every week. It is permissible to complete it on the 1 5th day and keeping it for more than 40 days is Makrooh and prohibited. Cutting hair or nails in the state of Janaabat is Makrooh. (Alamghiri) Nose hair should not be plucked as sickness is feared by doing so. (Alamghiri) Rule- For women to cut their hair just as how Christian women of today cut theirs, is impermissible, a sin and a cursed action. Even if the husband ' said to cut her hair stil l too wi l l this ruling apply as accommodating anybody against the Shariah is not allowed. (Durre Mukhtaar) Unfortunately many Muslim homes are afflicted with un-Islamic ways and culture. A hadeeth states, "Allah 's curse is on the woman who remains in the apparel and appearance ofa man." Hence by cutting her hair she becomes arrested in the curse ofAllah�. Rule- To use other human ' s hair i n a bun on the head is Haraam. The Hadeeth has cursed doing so and the person who makes this bun on a woman's head as wel l . Ifthe hair i n the bun is one's own hair which has fallen stil l too is it not allowed as this is copying of Christian women. However ifa bun is made ofcotton or b lack thread and used then there is no prohibition. Similarly, tying b lack netted material is allowed. (Durre-Mukhtaar) Rule- There is no harm in applying black Surma or Kaajal to the eyes. Yes, men should not use it with the intention ofzeenat. (Alamghirz) Rule- Keeping or hanging p ictures of animate objects (wether it's the face, only the body or complete) or respecting them i s impermissible. 227
