However decorating the home with representations or pictures of lifeless objects is allowed as is the practice ofkeeping Toghras etc in the home. It has been reported in the Hadeeth that Sayyiduna librael �\ said to the Holy Prophet �, "We angels ofmercy do not enter the house which has (animate)pictures or a dog. " (Bukhaari, Muslim) Rule- To hang the representations and pictures of Rassoolallah's £i. Naa' lain and Rauza Shareefin the home, to keep them respectfully, to kiss them, to place the eyes on them and put them on the head are all pennissible and a means of attaining contentment i n the Dunya and Aakhirat as well as giving luster to Imaan. Whatever object becomes related to the beloved' s ofAl l a h � especially the leader ofall beloveds, Rassoollalah � also becomes revered according to the Shariah, e.g. the respect of the Kaaba's Gilaaf throughout the times. The Ulema state that a benefit ofthese Naqshs is that they serve as substitutes ofZiyaarat for those who have not seen the original . Similarly the Naqsh of Rasoollalah' s &i1. naa'lain also serves as a substitute. This is the reason why a Naqsha of Rassoollalah' s � blessed Rauza Shareef has been included in Dalaailul Khairaat and has been the practice ofMashaaikh and U lema for aeons. Allah � grant Muslims the excellence of respecting, Aameen ! Rule- Small girls are permitted to play with dolls so that interest is created in taking care ofdomestic issues, e.g. cooking, caring etc. These dolls can be made oftin, plastic or foam but it is necessary that the child understands that these are only toys. They should not be objects of decoration within the home and doing so is absolutely impermissible. This rule should be understood carefully. Sayyida Aisha�narrates that when the Holy Prophet � returned from the Gazwa ofTabook or Khaibar, she was near 9 years old and used to play wi t h dolls with her friends coming tojoin her also. These dolls were in a niche covered with a sheet, when Rassoollalah � entered the home. A wind then blew the sheet of them and he asked, "0 Aisha ! What are these things?" She replied that they were her dolls. In between the dolls, was a horse made ofcloth having two shoulders.
