Tilaawat. If a Deeni act was done, e.g. answered t11e Azaan, read any Azkaar etc then reciting Ta'awuz again is not a responsibility. (Ghunyaa) Rule- If Tilaawat was begun from Surah Tauba, then Ta'awuz and Tasmiyah should be read but i f a person began reciting before this Surah, then there is no need to recite Bismillah when it comes. (Ghunyaa) Saying that Bismillah should not be read even when commencing Tilaawat from Surah Tauba is totally incorrect. (Bahare-Shariat) Rule- It is better to complete Tilaawat of the Holy Quraan at Subah (morning) during summer and complete it at first night in winter as a Hadeeth states, "He who completes theHoly Quraan at the beginning of the day, angels make Jstigraarfor him until the evening and he who completes it when night begins angels make Istighfaarfor him until the morning." Therefore because days are long in summer; the Istighfaar of the angels will be more during this time if it is completed at morning. Their Istighfaar will be excessive at night fall in winter as the nights are longer in this season. (Ghunyaa) Rule- Reciting Surah Ikhlaas three times is better when completing it. (Ghunyaa) Rule- There is no harm in reciting the Holy Quraan while lying down provided that the feet are together and the face is visible. Similarly making ifs Tilaawat is permissible while walking or working, on condition that the heart does not become disengaged. If it becomes disinterested, then it is Makrooh . (Ghunyaa) Rule- It is impermissible to recite the Holy Quraan in the bathroom or in places ofNajaasat. (Ghunyaa) Rule- When the Holy Quraan is recited loudly, it is Fardh on all present to listen to it ifthe gathering is for the purpose oflistening. Ifnot then the listening ofone suffices even if the others are busy in their own matters. 235
