Rule- The Quraan should be p laced on top of all books e.g. Fiqh, Tafseer etc. (Alamghiri) Rule- There is no sin if a person keeps a Quraan in his or her home or shop for the mere attainment ofBarkat and does not recite i t. Rather this Niyyat is ameans ofThawaab but one should not be negligent ofmaking Tilaawat ofthe Quraan. (Khaaniya) Rule- It is allowed to have sexual intercourse with one ' s wife in a room that has a Quraan present, provided that it is covered. (Alamghiri) Rule- Muslims have the habit ofclosing the Quraan when they wake up to go somewhere while reciting it. Indeed, this is an act of respect. However, a few people say that if the Quraan is left open, Shaitaan reads from it. This is not substantive but probably originated to instill etiquette within children. Rule- A fewAadaab ofthe Holy Quraan is to not face the back or spread the legs towards it as well as sitting on a high p lace while it is lower. (Bahare-Shariat) Rule- Keeping the Holy Quraan in a Gilaaf or Juz-Daan (covering) is respectful and has been practiced by Muslims from the time of the Sahaaba and Tabaeen$,. (Durre-Mukhtaar) RlIle- Kissing the Holy Quraan i s also proven form the rractice of the Sahaaba .$,. Hazrat Umar� used to kiss it every morning and say, "This is the covenant andKitaab olmyRubb." Hazrat Uthmaan�used to also kiss and pass it on his face. (Durre-Mukhtaar) RlIle- Qasam of the Quraan is also a valid oath. If the oath was contradicted, then kafaarah becomes Laazim. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- To claim an Ayat of the Holy Quraan i s defective, d isrespecting and making fun of it, or to read a few verses so that people laugh when hearing themat an improperoccasion, is all Kufr.
