Rassoollalah lj!. is reported to have said, "Dua does not lack three things for a Banda (bondsman). The supplication can either be a means a/his sins being/orgiven, he attains its blessings in theDunya or it 's reward is collected/or him in the Aakhirat. When the Banda sees the reward a/his dua that were accepted in the world he would wish that no supplication ofhis was accepted and all were savedfor him here." (Ahsanul- Wa 'aa) A few Aauaab a person should observe while making Dua, extracted frommaj or works, are mentioned below, 1 . As far as possible the heart should be safe from other thoughts. 2. The body, clothes and place should be clean. 3. Before Dua, good deeds, e.g. Namaaz, Tilaawat etc should be made so that divine mercy becomes attentive. Sadqa, especially discreet charity, has major effect on suppl ication. 4. Tauba should be made frompast sins before making Dua as remaining in disobedience and asking for blessings too, is shameful . 5 . If time is not Makrooh, two Rakaats of Namaaz for sincerity of the heart should be performed so that mercy takes heed. 6. One should be in Wudhu facing the Qibla, sitting with adab just as in the Tashahud of Namaaz, the heart must concentrate and the eyes lowered at the time ofmaking Dua. 7.Hamd ofAllah � should be made at the beginning and end ofDua as well as Durood because supplication does not travel without them. 8. The hands should be opened and kept level to the chest. 9. Aperson should display humility, humbleness and helplessness when makingDua and should at l east hearherself. 1 0. After supplicating for yourself, make Dua for all other Muslims, your parents, and Mashaaikh. Ifyou are not worthy to be given, Insha­ Allah through them, your aspirations will also be fulfilled. 1 1 . Ameen should be said at the end ofDua as it is It' s seal with the hands passecl over the face. 1 2 . Do not depend on your Dua only, rather request the pious, your parents, widows, the poor etc to make Dua for you after being kind to them as wel l .
