(Durre-Mukhtaar) TAZEER Rule- In some cases of Tazeer, scolding, rebuking or making one understand, is sufficient and if only this is enough, then lashing is absolutely not necessary. Similarly, the Hakim-e-Islam should not be resorted to in every situation. Hence, minor children can be censured by theirparents, guardians and teachers. Parents can even force their child to attain knowledge, Adab and method ofTilaawat ofthe Holy Quraan. Similarly, an orphan an be censured by the person who provides and takes care of him or her. (Durre-Mukhtaar, Raddul-Muhtaar) However it is necessary that the intention behind hitting and corporal punishment be a sincere and correct one. Children should not be hit to vent out anger or fmstration. Teachers should take special heed ofthis. Whenpunishing a child who is a�Sayyed for a bad action or habit, with the intention of reformation only, one should think that the clothes of the Sayyed has merely become soiled and I am cleaning it. (Bahare­ Shariat) Rule- With Niyyat ofrectification, a husband can censure his wife, e.g. she does not keep Fardh fast, she exposes her face before Ghair Mahrams, goes out ofthe home without consent etc. Rule- Although aman is allowed to censure his wife, this does not mean that he can injure her so badly that her legs or hands break.
