Rule- If the person who picks up the luqt is a Faqeer (needy), then after the mentioned period ofpublicizing, he can use the Luqt for himself. If he is not in need though, he can give it to his needy relatives who are not Maalike-Nisaab, e.g. his mother, father, son, daughter etc if they are Baaligh. (Durre-Mukhtaar) Rule- If a claimer to the Luqt arises and he correctly describes it and where it was lost, then giving it to him is permissible.( Hidaaya) Rule- After correctly describing the obj ect, if the person who picked it up refuses to give it, then the claimer is to prove by a witness that the Luqt is his property. (Hidaaya) Rule- In gatherings of weddings etc ifmoney is given to a person by someone to pass on to the couple, then it is not pennissible for the person given to give it to anybody else but the couple, save it for himselfor pick up othermoney passed, for himself. (Khaaniya) Rule- Ifsweets or dried dates etc were given to a person to distribute at a wedding, then he can save some for himselfand if other people are also distributing them, he too can take from them. (Khaaniya) Rule- If a chocolate etc fel l in the shawl ofa person while it was being distributed then another cannot take it ifa sign was made to pass it like that. Ifnot then it cannot be picked up by another. (Alamghiri) Rule- Sometimes in gatherings and at masj ids, shoes are misplaced. To use them is not allowed. However, if someone took your good pair of shoes and left you his pair of shoes and somehow it is known that this was done purposefully not mistakenly then the bad shoes can be used if they are picked up as it is compensation for your good pair. (Bahrur­ Raaiq) Rule- If a house was bought and some money was found in a wall etc then it should be given to the seller ifhe claims that it is his. Ifhe does not claim so then it is Lugt.
