MISCELLANEOUS MASAAIL CONCERNING BUYING & SELLING Rule- Selling a woman's natural milk is incorrect even if it is extracted and kept in a utensil. (Hidaaya) Rule- Buying and selling tusks or bones of an elephant or using objects made from them is all permissible. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- Business should not be done before first knowing the Masaail of Ba'ee so as to differentiate between correct and inGorrect methods of sale. (Alamghiri) Rule- Ba'ee of human excreta is prohibited but selling dung of animals is not. If the human-excreta is mixed with sand etc and the latter is Ghaalib (more) than the excreta, e.g. in manure and fertilizers, then there is nothing wrong with it's Ba'ee and usage (in farms for planting) (Bahare-Shariat) Rule- Naj i s clothes can be sold but i f it is feared that the buyer will read Namaaz in it, then he should be alerted to the fact that it is Naa-Paak. (Alamghiri) Rule- While purchasing something, the buyer gives more money than the selling price, then it is not permissible to take the extra amount until the seller is made the owner or given it as Halaal by the buyer. (Alamghiri) Rule- Unnecessarily lowering a suitable and agreed price of sale for an item should not be done. (Bahare-Shariat) Rule- Selling an itcm mixed with a foreign element, e.g. milk in which water is mixed or wheat mixed with sand etc is not permissible as this is deception. (Alamghiri) 2 7 7
