(Aafa-Hazrat �, Bahare­ Shariat) Rule- Women should use loose pants that cover their legs completely and themore they cover the foot, themore better. (Bahare-Shariat) Rule- Rassoolllalah � has said, "You should not respond to the person who speaks before making salaam." Therefore, ifa person comes to you and begins to talk without greeting then you have the choice of not answering him. (Raddul-Muhtaar) Rule- Salaam should be made at the time of coming and going, both. (Raddul-Muhtaar) RlIle- The person who sneezes should say, Afhumdulilfah or Alhumdulillah Ala Kulli Haal. In reply to the above, Yag�firullah Lanaa Wafakum should be said and in reply to this, Yahdikumulfah Wa Yusfihu Baalakum must be said and nothing else besides this is to be said. (Alamghiri) A FEW CHAPTERS OF ISLAMIC MANNERS AADAAB OF EATING AND DRINKING 1 . It is Sunnat to wash both hands until the wrists before and after eating. Some people wash only one hand or even one finger. This is not suffcient for the Sunnat to be completed . 2 . The hands washed before eating are not to be wiped but when washed after eating they should be wiped with a towel or handkerchief so that the effect ofthe food, e.g. its calor, smell, does not remain. 3. Eating should be commenced with saying Bismillah so that food which is the primary means ofsustained life and health is j oined with the blessings ofAllah ' s name. 295
