Rassoollalah � has said, "There is an utterance if said, three times by a person when leaving a Maj lis, Allah will erases his sins and ifa person says this utterance in a gathering ofZikr or reward then Allah will seal reward for himjust as how a ring seals something. This is the utterance, Subhaana kallahumma wa bihamdikaa, laa ilaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa-atoobu i laikaa (Abu Dawood) Another narration states that people who sit i n a gathering for a long time but do not make the Z ikr of Allah or send Durood upon Rassoollalah � and disperse from there are at a loss. IfAllah � wills, He can pardon or punish them. (Haakim) AADAAB OF MEETINGAND SPEAKING 1 . You shouldmeet family, friends and relatives with a happy face as thi s has been described as a Sadqa with a Muslim i n the Hadeeth. 2. The first thing said when meeting anybody is, "As-Salaamu Alaikim" as this utterance is Zikr, Ibaadat as well as a Dua and good wish. 3. It is Fardhupon the person greeted to reply to the salaam. 4. Ifthe person coming is a respected or Deeni personality then to stand up when seeing him in love and reverence and to welcome him is also part ofetiquette. 5. On such occasions, words of welcome, e.g. saying Marhaba are proven from the Shariat and increases contentment as well. 6. When visiting or meeting another, do not enter his home without being pennitted first. 7. Salaam should be made when entering your own home as Barkat is attained by doing so.
