Mufti-e-A'zam, Muhaddith-e-A'zam and all of the other great'Ulema and Masha'ikh of his time. Hadrat Sadrush Shari'ah was born in 1878 in a family that was struck with poverty. His father Hadrat Shaykh Jamalud Deen was a great scholar himself and was an expert specialist in Greek medicine as well. Despite such poverty, Hadrat Sadrush Shari'ah was keen in acquiring the Sacred knowledge from a very young age. Thus, he studied elemenetary books from Maulana Muhammad Siddiq in his hometown - Ghosi. Thereafter, he travelled to Madrasatul Hanafiyyah Jaunpur and studied with Hadrat'Allama Hidayatullah Khan Sahib Rampuri. Hudur Sadrush Shari'ah was such an intelligent student that his own teacher Allama Hidayatullah Khan Rampuri sahib once said: I received only one true, hardworking student and this being { n my oid age' From Jaunpur, he went to the great Muhaddith of his time, whom A'lahazrat gave the title Amirul Mu'minin fil Hadith (which is the highest title in the field of Hadith), hudur Wasi Ahmad Muhaddith-e-Surti in Pilibhit. Again, here Hudur Sadrush Shari'ah put great effort in learning Islamic knowledge that his blessed teacher Muhaddith-e-Surti praised him in the following words: "If anyone has learntfrom me, then surely it is Amjad 'Ali." 3 years after having graduated from the'Alim course, he went to Lakhnaw in order to learn Greek medicine. 5
