Abdul Razzaq al-Badr said,
The cup refers to all that which is used to drink from.
195. Thābit narrated: “Anas presented to us a thick wooden cup, which was lined with metal, and said, ‘O Thābit, this is the cup of the Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him).’” [226]
Mirak Shah al-Hanafī said,
It is proven in the authentic hadīth that the cup of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that Anas ibn Mālik possessed was a good cup with a length shorter than its width, and that this cup had a crack in it so the Prophet (peace be upon him) fixed it with a silver chain.
196. Anas ibn Mālik narrated: “I presented the Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him) with drinks in this cup from all those things which are drunk; water, nabīdh, honey and milk.” [227]
Abdul Razzaq al-Badr said,
The nabīdh is water that has had dates or grapes put in it and left overnight. By morning the water becomes sweetened with the taste of dates or grapes.
