M ’ 8 There is no god but Him, He gives life and death, Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. 9 Unfortunately , they are in doubt, dilly-dallying . 43 10 So wait for a Day when the sky brings clouds of smoke 11 that will cover up people and they will cry : “This is painful punishment! 12 Our Lord, relieve us, and we will believe.” 13 They will not learn a lesson even when a Messenger has come to them, 14 they turn away from him and say, “He’s been taught by someone and is possessed!” 15 Shortly We shall remove the punishment, but they will turn back to their disbelief . 16 The Day We seize them brutally, We shall take full revenge. T M P ’ 17 Long ago We tested Pharaoh’s people, when a noble messenger came saying to them, 18 “Hand over to me the servants of God; I am a trustworthy messenger sent to you. 19 Don’t regard yourself greater than God; I’ve come with distinct authority to you. 20 I’ve sought protection from my Lord and your Lord from your abuse; 44 21 if you don’t believe me then leave me alone.” 22 Moses called out to His Lord, “These are wicked people.” 23 So We ordered him : “Take my servants by night, though you will be chased, 24 after crossing the sea leave it parted , 45 they will be a drowned army.” 25 They, the Pharaoh’s lot, left behind many gardens, springs, 26 cornfields and spacious homes and 27 clubs where they had fun. 28 We raised other people to inherit them, 29 neither the Heavens nor the Earth wept over them, they weren’t given respite. G I 30 We delivered the Israelites from the shameful punishment 31 of the Pharaoh; he was arrogant and had gone beyond limits. 32 We knowingly favoured them above other people of their time . 33 We showed them many miracles; in them was a clear test. L 34 These Makkans say: 35 “There is only one death for us; we won’t be resurrected. 36 Why don’t you bring to life our forefathers if you are truthful.” 37 Are they better, or the people of Tubb a 46 and the people before them?
