The Majestic Quran
They said, “That’s how your Lord has decreed. Indeed, He is Wise, the Knower.” T 31 Abraham asked, “What’s the purpose of your coming, messengers?” 32 They replied, “We’ve been sent to the wicked people , 5 33 to pelt them with clay stones 34 marked by your Lord for those who’ve gone beyond limits.” 35 We rescued the believers from there; 36 We only found a single household of believers. 37 And We left behind a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. E 38 Also in the story of Moses is a sign , when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 39 He turned away because of his military migh t 6 and said, “Moses is a magician or a madman.” 40 So We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea; he was guilty. 41 And in the story of Ad is a lesson too, when we sent devastating wind upon them. 42 In its wake it left behind everything crushed and torn up. 43 And in the story of Thamud when it was said to them: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 44 They disobeyed the Lord’s command, so were seized by a blast as they watched. 45 Neither could they bear the punishment nor defend themselves against Us. 46 The people of Noah before them faced a similar fate . They too were sinners. T 47 We built the universe 7 with our creative power and We are ever expanding it . 8 48 And the Earth We spread out and levelled it smoothly. 49 We created everything in pairs so that you may reflect. 50 So come to God quickly. I am a clear Warner to you. 51 Don’t set up gods beside God, I am a clear Warner to you. 52 This is exactly what previous people did when a messenger was sent, they called him “a magician or a mad man.” 53 Did they tell one another to do this? No. They were transgressors. P 54 So ignore them, you are not to blame; 55 continue reminding, a reminder benefits the believers. 56 I created jinn and human beings only to worship Me. 57 I don’t want any sustenance from them nor for them to feed Me. 58
