8 When the stars’ light is faded, 9 when the sky is split, 10 when the mountains are crumbled to dust, 11 when the appointed term for the messengers finally comes – 12 for which Day has this been set for? 13 The Day of Decision. 14 What will explain to you what the Day of Decision is? 15 A Day of great loss for the deniers! L 16 Didn’t We destroy the previous generations? 17 We shall do the same to this one; 18 Our way of dealing with the sinners. 19 A Day of great loss for the deniers! 20 Didn’t We create you out of an embarrassing fluid? 21 That We lodged in the womb 22 for a fixed period, 23 precisely determined by Us; we are excellent at determining its length. 24 A Day of great loss for the deniers! 25 Didn’t We make the Earth a place for holding back 26 the living and the dead? 27 Didn’t We make lofty fixed mountains and give you sweet water to drink? 28 A Day of great loss for the deniers! T 29 “Go to the place, you used to deny! 30 Go in to the shade of the smoke that rises in three columns!” 31 This will provide neither cool shade nor safety from the heat of the flames. 32 It throws out columns of sparks like tall towers, 33 like pieces of copper. 34 A Day of great loss for the deniers! 35 Today, they won’t speak, 36 nor be allowed to make excuses for themselves. 37 A Day of great loss for the deniers. 38 This is the Day of Decision, We’ll gather you and all the previous generations. 39 If you’ve devised a plot against Me then try it! 40 A Day of great loss for the deniers! T P 41 The righteous will enjoy themselves in cool shade and gushing springs, 42 and their favourite fruits. 43 They will be told : “Eat, drink and be merry for what you did.” 44 That’s how We reward the righteous people. 45 A Day of great loss for the deniers! 46 Tell the disbelievers : “Eat and enjoy yourselves for a while; you are sinners”. 47 A Day of great loss for the deniers! 48 When they were told, “Bow for prayer,” they didn’t bow. 49 A Day of great loss for the deniers! 50 So which revelation after this will they believe?
