The Majestic Quran

In the name of God, the Kind, the Caring. T H 1 By the mountain, 2 and by a Book written down 3 on open pages, 4 and by the visited house, 9 5 and by the soaring roof, 6 and by the over-full, ferocious sea – 7 your Lord’s punishment will come to pass; 8 no power can stop it! 9 Even the sky will shudder and judder that Day, 10 and the mountains will float. 11 Ruined that Day will be the deniers, 12 who were absorbed in useless projects. 13 That Day they will be thrust into the fire of Hell. 14 “This is the Fire you use to deny. 15 Is this magic? Or do you not see? 16 Burn in it! Whether you are patient or not it is the same; you are being rewarded for what you did.” T P 17 The righteous will be in Gardens full of luxuries, 18 enjoying what the Lord gave them, and protected them from the punishment of Hell. 19 They shall be told : “Eat, drink and be merry, a reward for what you did.” 20 They will rest on comfortable sofas gracefully arranged in rows, and We shall marry them with spouses with beautiful eyes. 10 C P 21 The believers whose children followed them in faith will be united with them in Paradise without their parents’ good deeds being diminished in value. Each person is answerable 11 for his deeds. 22 We shall feed them with all the kinds of fruits and meat they desire. 23 A cup of wine passed around will not cause drunken uproar or a sin. 24 Serving them will be young people as beautiful as hidden pearls. 25 Turning to each other, they will ask, 26 “were we not fearful about the fate of our families? 27 God has favoured us and spared us the punishment of the Intense Fire. 28 We used to pray to Him; the Good, the Caring.” T 29 So, remind them, by the grace of your Lord; you aren’t a soothsayer nor a madman. 30 They call you, “A poet, and we are waiting to see what time will do to him.” 12 31 Tell them: “Wait if you wish, and I shall wait with you.” 32 Or do their minds tell them to say this? Or are they simply a
